Sendai Framework for DRR Targets and Indicators - The importance of 2015 as a turning point for disaster risk reduction indicators and policy was illustrated in this presentation, with the emergence of Sendai Framework targets and relationship between indicators to monitor the implementation of Sendai Framework for DRR and SDGs. The presentation also stressed emphasis on pre-disaster DRR investment and explained the concept of “Build back better”.

A Disaster-related Statistics Framework (DRSF) and Monitoring of Internationally-agreed Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development Indicators - Presentation updated the Expert Group on progress by the intergovernmental Expert group (OEIWG) to agree on terminology and indicators for monitoring progress for implementation of the Sendai Framework and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Expert Groups learned about relationships between the work on DRSF with the expected requirements for global indicator monitoring systems.
