The TWG Secretariat, in collaboration with the Indonesian Statistical Society Forum (FMS), would like to invite you to the Asia-Pacific Regional Symposium on Disaster-Related Statistics, which will also function as the 10th meeting of the TWG on Disaster-related Statistics. The Symposium is jointly organized by the various agencies and university in Indonesia (Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the Central Bureau Statistics (Badan Pusat Statistik), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Department of Statistics, MIPA, and the Syiah Kuala University);  and the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP). The symposium aims to review progress towards establishing disaster-related statistics at the global and regional levels and encourage initiation steps at the national level. The Symposium held on Tuesday, 27 July 2021, 08.00 – 15.00 (GMT+7) viz Zoom. 


Objectives:

The objective of the online regional symposium is for government officials, experts, and other stakeholders to take stock of progress, commitments, and plans on disaster-related statistics, more specifically:

  1. to assess the state of disaster-related statistics in Asia and the Pacific as well as globally;
  2. to draw lessons from good practices including the Indonesia One Disaster Data; and
  3. to catalyze national initiatives towards a disaster-related statistics framework
